Powerful places - what are they and what are they made of ? An Open Space session led by Hedva P. on day2

Our meaningful places are:

  • Discovered by observation and enquiry,
  • Declared by experts or mystics,
  • Exist in the Chaordic,
  • Man-made or natural,
  • Certain places throughout the world that have always been recognized,
  • Undergo evolutionary processes,
  • Not necessarily connected with people or a community,
  • Magnetic, but not measured by popularity,
  • Some are sacred and connected to mythos,
  • The Hebrew word for "place" is "Makom" one of god`s names

What makes places powerful & empowering?

  •  There is a sense of belonging
  •  There is a sense of being part of a partnership
  •  Mean a lot to some individuals
  •  Unique in appearance
  •  Inspire creativity
  •  Awaken strong feelings and emotions
  •  Connected to a certain identity through: tradition\culture\religion etc.
  •  A meeting place
  •   Involve food: eating\drinking
  •  Transcendental – connect  between physics and metaphysics
  •   Not neutral
  •   Not judgmental

Thoughts:

  • Can we summarize their characteristics and nature?
  • How can we make them?

Thank you for sharing your meaningful places with us : ) Please, help us to map more empowering & powerful places Do, recommend them to us.
